Rare ante-bellum serving spoons manufactured from 1845-1855 by the famous firm of Hyde & Goodrich of New Orleans, LA.

These beautiful spoons were produced from coin silver (.90 fine) and were widely used on some of the great plantations in the south, an well as in fine city homes. They are attractively designed in a "domestic" motif and were exported to London and Paris. Hyde & Goodrich was famous as a producer of military supplies for the Confederacy, including the beautiful Louisiana brass uniform buttons depicting a mother pelican surrounded by her offspring.

$175 each.
