State of North Carolina
|
Cr-130. $3. State of North Carolina. Liberty, Prosperity ctr. Ironically printed on watermarked FIVE" financial paper, indicating the scarcity of paper during the Civil War and the necessity of using whatever printing supplies were available at the time. We recently obtained a small hoard of these notes from a prominent North Carolina family. These banknotes had been in the safekeeping of the same family since the end of the Civil War. These are essentially pristine bank notes which survived the war in immaculate condition and exemplify the financial diversity and complexity of the war period in the south. Truly an unusual opportunity to purchase an exquisite bank note at very fair prices. AU $125. CU $150. (Listed at $195 in some currency catalogs.) \
